Friday July 10 | 9AM - 11AM

In our Seed To Sprout Workshop, we invite your children to join our youth educators Trish & Cara for a food-based class amongst the farm fields, greenhouses, and orchard!

This workshop will start with a body and mind check-in that will set the tone for the day, bringing more joy and mindfulness into their experience on the farm and beyond! This workshop will provide the opportunity to learn about planting and caring for seedlings. Students will have a hands-on experience in planting germinated seeds to take home to watch grow for weeks to come! Students will also make their very own Sang Lee Smoothie with seasonal organic fruits and vegetables from our farm to enjoy while at the workshop. We hope to inspire our students to step out of their veggie comfort zone, and recognize the magic of growing your own food!

WHO WE ARE

REGENERATIVE

Our farm has been recognized by the Leopold Conservation award in 2020 for leading the way in sustainability in the environment as a farm due to our complex diversified cover cropping, water conservation, and limited till practices.

Watch the video above to learn more about the details of our deep love and care for the soil, the environment and the food we grow.

ORGANIC

Our farm has been certified organic by NOFA-NY for over 15 years! We grow all our produce with organic methods because we believe in it. When Fred was farming in the 90’s, he decided he didn’t want to use synthetic fertilizers or pesticides anymore as a means of preserving the health of the soil, the water, the bees, his family running in the fields, and himself as the primary spray applicator. In 2019, NOFA awarded us with “Farmer’s of the Year” Award because of our dedication to Organic principles. Read an article and listen to a podcast about it here.

4TH GEN FAMILY FARM

Sang Lee Farms was started in the 1940’s by George Lee, and his cousins and brothers further west on Long Island in Moriches. They grew Asian veggies for wholesale markets on the East Coast for over four decades. In 1987, when the markets changed and George Lee passed away, Fred Lee (his son) moved the operation to the North Fork, to our current location. When it was no longer viable to grow wholesale veggies on Long Island, Fred and Karen diversified and shifted to CSA’s, markets, and the farmstand — direct to consumer! Today, the farm is run by Fred, Lucy and a team of amazing staff who feel like family. The 4th generation has also been born and we are thrilled to introduce baby Koa to the farm and fields!

WE GROW VEGETABLES THAT ARE ALWAYS:

THE BEST QUALITY

We harvest, wash, and handle our vegetables with love, care and cleanliness. We are committed to food safety practices following FYSSMA protocols and water testing. We take great pride in washing the veggies so they arrive beautiful and alive.

ULTRA FRESH

Our veggies are selected and harvested from our North Fork farm fields less than 48 hours before we pack and deliver them to your neighborhood dropsite, bring them to the farmer’s markets, or stock them on the farmstand. No shipping across the country which means your food is still full of life and nutrients.

FLAVORFUL

When you grow vegetables in soil that is healthy and harvest from them right before eating, the flavor of them is far superior to grocery store veggies. Fresh food tastes better, and we make sure we give you the freshest, tastiest veggies you’ve ever had.

DIVERSE

We grow over 300 different heirloom & organic NON-GMO varieties of vegetables so you can taste new flavors, new colors, and new veggies! From the neighborhoods we feed to the staff we employ, we value diversity.
