PEPPERS & EGGPLANT PLANTS INFORMATION

Peppers and eggplant are both in the nightshade family, like tomatoes and potatoes! They grow to about 2-3 feet tall and need about 1.5 - 2 feet space between plants.

PEPPERS

We sell bell peppers and hot peppers! All peppers start by looking green. You can harvest them green if you like, or wait until they turn the color they are destined to be!

  • Red Knight variety is extra-early, highly productive standard red bell. Huge yields of medium sized 3-4 lobed fruits turn red after the fruits are fully formed. All the fruits start green. It has apparent tolerance to blossom drop as nearly every flower produces a pepper.

  • Milena variety - bright orange fruits with thick, juicy walls and fruity sweet flavor. Medium-large, very blocky fruits are easy to grow under a wide variety of conditions. Strong compact plants set plentiful fruits without crowding.

  • Madonna - early yellow pepper. Prolific large, blocky fruits with four lobes and thick, juicy walls. Highly uniform fruit on vigorous plants with high yield potential all season. 4” fruits.

  • You might get red, orange or yellow color, but these beautiful mini snacking peppers are remarkably sweet and flavorful. They are delicious sautéed, as an addition to salads and perfect for a healthy snack. All three yield well for snack-type peppers.

  • Small, mild Japanese pepper for roasting, pan-frying and grilling. Thin walls blister and char easily when roasted or grilled, taking on rich flavor that is delicious with coarse salt and lemon juice. The occasional fruit will display heat.

  • Prolific yields of flavorful blunt fruits with distinctive jalapeño flavor. Small, spicy fruits with thick walls can be harvested green or allowed to ripen to red. Medium heat, 3-3.5” fruits.

  • Fruits have a moderate heat level and avg. 1 1/2" in diameter—just perfect for stuffing, pickling, or making a mild hot sauce! Most fruits are round to slightly flattened. Very popular in Italy. Medium-size plants.

  • Exclusive early Thai-type pepper. Fruits are borne upright on the plants, which are smaller and bear fruits much earlier than typical Thai pepper varieties, especially in regions with cool summers.

EGGPLANT

Eggplant of many shapes and sizes! They love the sun and you can harvest them at any size of the fruit that you wish. Don’t let them get too big or they will start to get sun scalded and taste bitter / crack.

  • Galine - Classic Italian eggplant with high yields and no spines. Large, nearly black round to bell-shaped fruits have a slight signature ribbing. Medium to thick skin is deep purple and glossy when mature. Compact plants benefit from staking early in the season to support heavy yields of large fruit. 3-6” fruit.

  • Annina - Spineless, purple-striped Italian type. Glossy, variegated eggplant with attractive teardrop shape. Avg. 7–8" long by 3–4" diameter. Early and high yielding. No spines

  • The most dependable Asian eggplant. High-yielding plants produce armloads of attractive, slender, glossy fruits 8–10" long by 2" diameter. Ready up to 2 weeks before other early varieties. Tender, delicately flavored, and quick-cooking.

  • Purple and white mini eggplant. Attractive small fruits, abundant on compact 18-24" plants. Wonderful flavor with no bitterness and very few seeds.
